Is using a custom ASIC firmware from BiXBiT free?

Our software for Antminer, Whatsminer is distributed for free. Please keep in mind that custom firmware includes Developers Fee, which is a reward for developers. Usually it is 1.8%-2.8% of the miner’s total hashrate which is automatically deducted during the work of the device.

Why the ASIC does not start after selecting a profile?

If you mean the very first run after flashing the device, it sometimes takes up to an hour for the inbuilt algorithm to finish configuring your ASIC.

How to bypass the “Cannot Find Signature” message during the flashing process of the ASIC?

Read our user manual for your specific miner version, it describes actions to eliminate this error, when it occurs.

Does the ASIC lose its warranty from the manufacturer when used with a custom firmware?

There is no definite answer. To avoid warranty issues, please use the firmware from the manufacturer.

Is it risky to use the custom firmware for ASIC from BiXBiT?

Absolutely not. All firmware revisions are thoroughly tested before each release. Moreover, all BiXBiT capacities have been running on these firmwares for many years.

Is BiXBiT AMS compatible with microprograms from other developers?

No. Our automated monitoring system is only compatible with our software.

Is it possible to revert the ASIC back to its original settings after using a custom firmware?

Yes, just bring back the official firmware in the usual way.

What level of knowledge is required to flash a miner?

We have specially made instructions for every version of the miner. Everything is described in a simple and clear way, so even a beginner can handle it. Besides, you are always backed with our team of technicians who are always in touch and willing to help.

3.3 POOL AND WORKER SETUP

This setting can be done both using the WhatsMinerTool utility and through the miner’s web interface.

Notes:

Pool addresses and the worker name are obtained from the pool itself. The coin type can be any coin supported by your pool based on the SHA-256 algorithm. The password and suffix are optional.
To avoid equipment downtime, it is not recommended to specify three identical pool addresses. If the connection is lost, the device will attempt to switch to the same unavailable address, which will not resolve the issue. It is recommended to specify three different pool addresses. Using addresses from different pools, not just a single pool, is allowed and increases connection reliability while reducing the risk of downtime.
Pools in the device configuration are processed in the order in which they are specified, from first to last. If the device cannot connect to the first pool, it automatically switches to the next one in the list. This process continues until a successful connection is established or all available pools have been exhausted.
If, after changing pools, the device does not connect to the new pool and continues operating with the old one, perform a device reboot.

3.3.1. CONFIGURATION OF POOLS THROUGH THE WHATSMINERTOOL UTILITY

In the WhatsMinerTool program window, after scanning the network and detecting the device, click the [Pools] button ①.
Enter the pool address, worker name, suffix, password, and coin type in the corresponding fields ②. If necessary, you can configure one or more pools.
Select the IP address of the device(s) to which the entered pool parameters should be applied. You can select multiple devices ③.
Click [Start Upgrade] button.
When the dialog window appears, click [OK] to complete the configuration.
To hide the pool configuration form, click the [Pools] button ① again.

Notes:

Click [Fixed Pools Input] to lock the pool address you entered. When configuring the same pool for other devices, you will not need to enter it again; it will be available in the drop-down list.
Click [Set Pool Only] to change only the pool, without modifying the worker configuration, suffix format, password, coin type, or other parameters.
Suffix configuration options (using suffixes is convenient when you have a large number of devices, as they allow you to track on the mining pool how much each individual worker—each device or group of devices—earns):
1. No-suffix – without a suffix. Convenient if you have one device;
2. Custom suffix – user-defined suffix. Adds a user-entered suffix from the corresponding field to the worker;
3. IP-suffix – automatically adds the device's IP address to the worker name. The configuration of the number of octets (parts of the IP address) automatically appended to the worker is done in the Setting section, in the IP Suffix Count field.
4. Custom with IP – a combination of the IP suffix and Custom suffix options.

3.3.2 CONFIGURATION OF POOLS THROUGH THE WEB INTERFACE OF THE MINER

Open the IP address of the miner in the browser (for example, 192.168.88.96) and enter the login / password set on the device (by default - admin / admin)
Go to section ① Configuration > Miner Configuration, tab Pool
To set the pool in the Pool 1 drop down menu ② select custom. An input field will appear instead of the drop down menu.
Fill in the field that appears, as well as Pool 1 worker and Pool Password ③
If necessary, set the Pool 2 and Pool 3
Press [Save & Apply], to save settings.

After changing pools, you need to restart the miner.
